Steps to Obtaining your CDL

First Step: Study for your CDL Permit
The very first thing you need to do is study for your CDL permit. Our CDL training courses provide  everything you need to prepare for the written test.

Second Step: Test for your CDL Permit/New hire 
After you’ve completed our training course, your next step is to head to the nearest DMV and take their test.

Third Step: Get Your DOT Medical Card/New hire  
Once you have passed your test, you will need to get a DOT Medical Card.  You will need to find a certified medical examiner. The medical examiner will do a physical and fill out a form certifying that you are physically fit to drive a commercial motor vehicle.

Q. How long after taking the training can I get on the road?
Once you have completed the training and taken your state’s written Commercial Driver’s License exam, you will need to complete a hands-on portion of training and then take the driving skills test. Q. Do I have to use a truck school to further my training?
Online CDL Training can be used either as continuing education for existing truck drivers or as part of a complete CDL training program. To obtain your CDL license, additional hours are required at a truck driving school or certified training center for the skills section of the CDL.
