The Statistics

According to the Department of Transportation, 3,308 people were killed in distracted driving-related accidents in 2022, with an estimated 289,310 additional injuries. In an effort to curb these numbers, April has been designated as Distracted Driving Awareness Month. The DOT, National Safety Council, and numerous other organizations are campaigning to bring attention to the dangers associated with distracted driving.

A study by UFG Insurance found that 47% of CMV operators admitted to reading text messages while driving, and 39% said they actively sent texts while operating. Almost three-fourths of drivers surveyed admitted that their behavior was wrong. Are you training your drivers on best practices?
